Procurement Manager – Hotel Operations 2023-08-28

Job Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the business ethics and against corruption
  • Conduct Vendor sourcing and selection, price comparison, annual vendor performance review and budgeting
  • Establish and update the supplier database
  • Responsible for the overall purchases of food and non-food items of the hotel
  • Establish contractual partnership with our vendors, buying equipment, goods and services and comparing costs, quality and service in order to get the best value during the Procurement process
  • Ensure the hotel Procurement & tendering policies and procedures are fully implemented
  • Monitor and review regularly the work processes, policies, guidelines, procedures and computer systems of the Purchasing Unit, and suggest and implement changes/enhancements, as appropriate
  • Handle purchase requisitions (including review of specifications) submitted by user departments, prepare tender invitation documents to suppliers, compile offer summaries/analyses, review purchase recommendations from user departments, negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, prepare purchase orders, and conduct site visits and briefing sessions jointly with the departments for tendering suppliers
  • Enhance and implement the Procurement operation system (MBT SCM system)
  • Ensure smooth supply of all hotel items to meet the operation needs
  • Keep close monitor on inventory to avoid waste of resources
  • Review and implement Procurement & logistic policies and procedures from time to time
  • Liaise closely with all department heads, vendors and stakeholders
  • Collect updated market and price trend information
  • Lead, supervise and provide guidance to subordinates

Job Requirements:

  • Degree Holder of Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance management is preferred
  • Recognized relevant degree with at least 8 years of solid experience in managerial experience in hotel Procurement, solid experience in sizeable hotel group
  • Uphold the excellent business ethical and demonstrate the best procurement practice always
  • Strong understanding and experience in effective sourcing strategies
  • Good Networking in the industries and supplies chain
  • Possess good knowledge of importing and inbound logistics with prior team management experience is required
  • Fully understand the hotel operation
  • Excellent knowledge including food and non-food products
  • Good knowledge of negotiation strategies
  • Analytical and organized planner with ability to handle stress
  • Good interpersonal and leadership ability to work effectively with user departments and suppliers as well as other members of the corporate office and stakeholders
  • Good command of both written and spoken English, Putonghua and Cantonese
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in computer applications, with experience in the use of the MBT SCM system (purchasing module) system being an advantage
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Procurement Manager - Hotel Operations
